Hi, I’m Linna

I’m glad you stopped by!

I write about my travel adventures, where to find the best places to eat or how to attempt to make it yourself, and aesthetic designs that I chance upon.

I’m someone who enjoys booking by flight to going on a trip with a single carry-on at a moment’s notice. But I’m also just as happy staying in, wrapping myself up into a couch burrito and updating a page on this site.

Cozy Corners

Oak, linen, and potted plants form a quiet harmony together. Then add a touch of care — where each trinket tells a story. These knickknacks will transform dusty shelves and abandoned nooks into magical retreats.

Hobbies that brighten your day

Take a nap and relax

My cat is napping 90% of the time, or at least that’s how I feel. Find a comfortable position, curl up and take a nap with your furry baby once in a while — it turns out taking naps has been scientifically proven to increase your longevity by decreasing stress.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where to find the cheapest flights?

Short answer is Google Flights. Just search where you have to go and change the dates around to find the cheapest times. You can also mix and match some flight destinations. For example flying to San Francisco and then to Japan is cheaper than flying directly from Boston to Japan.

When and How do I exchange my currency?

The easiest way is to open a Charles Schwab investor checking account. You can take money out at any ATM in that country’s currency without fees. Any fees paid will be reimbursed by Schwab. I’ve used this in over 20+ countries across North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Australia, and Africa without a problem. You can just wait until you land at the airport of your destination country to withdraw. Currency exchange using dollar bills at airports are surprisingly a good deal (I just learned this recently in Taiwan). Also get a credit card with NO foreign transaction fee.

Best way to book accomodations

I recommend a mix of value Airbnb or Hostels and luxury hotels. You’ll get to experience local living while saving some money in more affordable living situations while getting to bath a spa and roll in crisp, satin sheets when you most need it.

What should I pack

Try to fit everything you can in a carry-on. Dealing with checked bags is a pain in the butt. It’ll really slow you down. You really only need the essentials (5 days change of clothes, phone, wallet, passport, must have toiletries). You can buy everything else at your travel destination if your really need.

Do I need travel insurance?

Apparently a lot of major credit cards already have you covered. You’ll have to double check, but if your credit card does NOT have a foreign transaction fee. I’d call the credit card company to double check though. To be on the safe side, if you’re not covered by a credit card and you’re traveling for more than a week, I’d get travel insurance.
